WNY CHildren's Book EXPO was on Saturday, November 11 at the Buffalo Convention Center. The event featured over 40 authors from across the country and internationally. Ohana100 volunteers helped to distribute over 600 books to every child that attended the event. They were also able to meet the authors up close. Thank you to MSMD for this wonderful partnership and allowing Ohana100 to be part of this literacy event for the past 3 years. Thank you to all our volunteers for carving out time to spread the joy of reading on this day!
APPLE FESTIVAL
Ohana100 participates in the Annual Apple Festival hosted by Clarence United Methodist Church. This is one way we can spread the word about what we are doing for children in the WNY communities.

Spring Reading Around WNY
Wrapping up the school year Ohana100 volunteers read to many programs throughout WNY during the months of May and June.

There's so much excitement reading with children at FHC. For volunteers like Ms. Sandy and Ms. Marie, its wonderful to see the children every month and really seeing them grow. They are curious, they want to share their thoughts and they have so many questions!
First graders at Clinton Elementary had a great time hearing stories from Ms. Marie, Mr. David, Mr. Sam, Ms. Barbara and Ms. Pat.
GO! READ CHALLENGE @ Newfane EL
Students at Newfane elementary School who excelled or those who showed improvement in reading and writing were recognized by their teachers and Ohana100. Each student received a GO! Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!! Many kids at Newfane Early Childhood Center were dressed to celebrate Dr. Seuss Bday and volunteers also read some wonderful Dr. Seuss stories. GO! READ NECC.
Building Relationships
On Monday Feb. 20th volunteers visited with families of the Priscilla Project. Volunteers shared stories with the mothers, read stories and played some activities with the children. It was certainly a wonderful time to bond with the mothers and children.

On Tuesday, February 7 Ohana100 volunteers read to 1st graders at Newfane Elementary. Volunteers teamed up and read a couple stories to each class. Students were wonderful listeners and they appreciated stories. Hopefully they'll get to meet up with the same volunteers at the next month. GO! READ Newfane EL
Storytime with Nepali Families

Pajama Day Surprise

A Beautiful Site. . . Books & Kids
It was a beautiful site at West Buffalo Charter School on Wednesday, December 21st, when every student (350) received a book to take home for the holiday. Our senior volunteer shared a holiday story with all students in grades K and 1. Happy Holidays! GO! READ WBC

Joy To Newfane Kids
On Tuesday, December 13th Ohana100 volunteers traveled to Newfane Elementary in Niagara County to read with and deliver 187 books to grades K and 1. The kids enjoyed this holiday visit especially their gift of aloha! GO! READ Newfane EL

A Holley Jolly Christmas
On Monday, December 12th Ohana100 volunteers drove an hour out to Orleans County to read with and delivered the joy of holidays to kids at Agri-Business Child Development in Holley. The kids were very excited to receive special books to take home for Christmas. GO! READ Holley Kids
Holiday Treat For Green Acres
ON Thursday, December 8 volunteers visited Miss Michelle Class at Green Acres. The children were anxious to hear from the readers. They enjoyed each story read and were able to receive a special holiday gift from Ohana100. GO! READ Green Acre Kids
Gifts For FFSA Niagara Falls
On Tuesday, December 8th KDWT Ambassador Catherine traveled to Niagara Falls Air Force Reserve Station in Wheatfield, New York and delivered 100 new books to benefit children of the Friends of Family Support Association- supporting military families of those who serve. The books will be part of their stocking gifts for the holidays. GO! READ
Warsaw Winter Reading
On Thursday, December 8th volunteers traveled one hour southeast in rough winter weather to read with kids at the Warsaw Head Start program. They also delivered 370 books for the entire Cattaraugus & Wyoming Counties Head Start program- servicing five centers in the WNY region. In preparation for the event, the books were stamped, tied with a ribbon and loaded in the car. Great job volunteers and GO! READ CATWY HS Kids
Springville Surprise
On December 3rd, Trading Post Community Care Center in Springville New York received 100 gifts for their kids, as part of their Annual Holiday Giving Tree event. The Trading Post services the entire Springville community, providing clothing, food and supplies for all families in need, and so much more. The center is always busy. KDWT Ambassador Catherine helped to wrap gifts for all the kids. Thanks to Debbie and staff for your commitment to service and doing all that you do for the Springville community! Happy Holidays!!!
Celebrating Family Volunteer Day
KDWT WNY Team celebrated Family Volunteer Day for Ohana100's GO! READ Project. Volunteers helped to prepare gifts to benefit over 1500 kids from 15 community programs in need throughout the Western New York Region. Volunteers stamped and tied ribbons on each brand new book.
KDWT for the 3rd year, adopted 2 families in need of support each year during the holidays. Jim from the Clarence Food Pantry was present this day to pick up the gifts for each family.

Books & Authors
Ohana100 participated in the WNY Children's Book EXPO on Sunday, November 6th. For the second year, Ohana100 donated books for this event to promote the importance of literacy for children. Kids from all over the region, Pennsylvania and even Canada attended this event.
GO! READ Ambassadors Catherine and Sally met Doreen Cronin who authored "CLICK CLACK MOO", a book that they read often to children.
